Who we are and what we do
Since 1979, we've dedicated ourselves to the business of creating a professional, responsible, client oriented service dealing in antiques and fine arts. Combining an organized, critical, scientific approach with the discrimination formed by years of collecting for personal pleasure, and by coursework in Fine Arts at Princeton University, we have assembled a collection that is unusual, if not unique, in its variety and quality, and which we add to almost daily.
Having gone through many stages of collecting, we know that some collectors prefer to start with modest purchases, becoming more serious clients as confidence and trust develop. We are happy to take that approach with you, and to share knowledge acquired over a long period. Some of that knowledge will be found in our Forum, where, as much as possible, we will answer your questions as well as post information we have found to be useful.
In the role of consultant, we help clients who are searching in a particular collecting field, or who may need just one special item. Our purchases for clients at auction have made national news, but we have also been instrumental in placing properties on behalf of clients who wish to sell. In this we strive, discreetly, to find the most appropriate destination for given works. A particularly successful example is a textile we sold to the H.F.Dupont Winterthur Museum, shown and published by them in the exhibition, "Masterworks From the Collection." Other instances have brought equally satisfying results to our clients, and we can supply references or testimonials if asked.
We also have a very active Appraisal service, described more fully in that section. A click will take you there.
