Rare Annamese (Vietnamese) Stoneware Charger
Made for Southeast Asian export, decorated in underglaze blue with a fanciful horse soaring among the clouds; raised from the Hoi An shipwreck, the glaze degraded as with almost all the recovered cargo, but every bit as fine as the comparable example acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Vietnam. c. 1500. 17 1/2" D.
